Unpacking God's work

God has been working through the Summer Medical Institute in Philadelphia!

The team gathered in Philadelphia just over two weeks ago, on Saturday, July 7. Since that time, they have shadowed physicians at Esperanza Health Center, learned from medical professionals, and walked door-to-door in Hunting Park and Kensington, offering medical screenings.

If you have not already, check out their blog entries at In the blog, students unpack what God has been doing in and through their teams. Reading their entries will encourage and strengthen your faith and witness!

Sunday Alerts

(Thanks to Bob Timms for these alerts for Sunday).

DRPA says the Ben Franklin Bridge will be closed to motor vehicles from 6:45am to 8:30am this Sunday to facilitate the annual Tour de Shore bike ride.

Also note that the ongoing water/gas main repairs have South Street closed at 21st Street, so people who use the South Street Bridge to get into Tenth should turn on 22nd Street then on Pine.

Robert's Rules

We had a staff luncheon today to say farewell to Robert Polen, who does not like farewells, at least sentimental farewells. So we did something a bit unique. Robert likes to have a signature quote on the end of his emails. We collected them and then voted for the best one. The top three were:
