Bruce McDowell just called. Everyone arrived safely in Santa Marta where the orphanage home we are supporting is. Only one suitcase is missing! The medical personnel are already seeing patients. Bruce will speak to about 120 pastors and church leaders tonight on evangelism and church growth.
Registration deadline extended
The 2008 “Women in the Word” workshop is October 3–4 at Calvary PCA in Willow Grove. TenthWomen is offering several full or partial scholarships. Contact Cheryl Brubaker (cheryl@rishon1.com) if you are interested in applying for a scholarship; otherwise, look for more information at the WTS events page and register directly from their brochure.

The Fearsome Foursome
Perhaps we should bring in these four women from Texas to provide training in self-defense. Listen to this real-life demonstration of what they can do.
Canned Goodness
I am disappointed in my Bible study group that met last night. They showed a distinct aversion to the canned boiled peanuts I had brought from South Carolina. Tom and Hugh, see me for your cans on Sunday.
SAFE!
Bruce McDowell just called to say that the Colombia short-term team arrived safely at the Miami International Airport en route to Colombia. They still need to meet up with Matt Moslener who's flying over from Texas. Tonight will be the first time the entire team meets in person - pray for team unity and love as they serve together.

I and others are already getting these on our cell phones at work. Last night's shutdown of I-76 was the first message sent using this network that I received. A great thing to have.

The Jesus Gospel
Our guest preacher, Liam Goligher, is also an author. Read this interview with him about his book, The Jesus Gospel, that he "wrote... for the world on one hand and the church on the other, not the scholars... but for ordinary church people."
