On-Line Giving

In December 2008, Tenth began on-line giving for the three major budgets of the church and for the capital campaign. From January to March, there has been a steady flow of contributions given on-line. We have received $17,785 from electronic check (ACH) and $13,969 from debit cards. As noted in our webpage, Tenth greatly prefers contributors to use electronic check (ACH) instead of debit cards due to the fees. For the first three months of the year, Tenth paid $547 in fees for debit card use and only $29 in fees for electronic check (ACH). If you would like to know more about on-line giving, you can click here http://www.tenth.org/index.php?id=632

Gregory Coleman

Tenth member Gregory Coleman is seeking a seat on the bench of the Court of Common Pleas. Here is an article about him in The Philadelphia Tribune. Pray for him as he seeks to honor the Lord in the campaign process and on the bench.

Tripp on Psalm 27

I have in my hands (actually on my desk; I'm typing with my hands) a copy of Paul Tripp's latest book - A Shelter in the Time of Storm: Meditations on God and Trouble. Like Whiter Than Snow it is a collection of meditations on one psalm - Psalm 27.

Paul was commenting to the staff this morning that because the psalms are short, we tend to rush through a psalm quickly, not taking the time to fully appreciate what the psalm has to offer. This is the second of other favorite psalms of his that he plans to do.

The book is published by Crossway.

Sublet or short-term lease sought

We are looking for an apartment or small house (yard would be lovely!) for myself and my two school-aged children (ages 8 & 10). I am a former member of Tenth Presbyterian Church. I presently live in San Francisco, attending an RCA church here. My family and I will be in Philadelphia from July through December of this year, 2009, due to construction happening on our home out here. We are looking for housing in Philadelphia, particularly in the Mt Airy/Chestnut Hill area of the city to be near where my extended family lives. We would be looking for a sublet or short-term (6-month) lease.
