Successful surgery

Liz VanBastelaar's surgery went well--the surgeons were very positive about it. She will have a followup visit with the surgeons in a week and a half to determine next steps. Everyone is rejoicing with her. Give thanks for answered prayer and continue to pray that God will fully restore her to good health.

Mississippi Rebuilding

Tomorrow morning Tom Witmer and Mary Thompson leave for Biloxi, Mississippi, where they will deliver a portion of our Easter Sacrificial Offering to First Presbyterian Church. The funds are going towards the rebuilding of a home in that area, which the team and others will be working on for two weeks while they are there. Sue Hoyt will join the team later in the week.

As you remember to pray for the team and for the ongoing rebuilding in the Gulf Coast, you can also pray for the new church plant in Bay St. Louis, Lagniappe Presbyterian Church. If you're unfamiliar with the word "lagniappe," check out their website to find out why they chose the name for this new work.

News from the Moyers, too

Tim and Kathy Moyer are happy to inform you that Noah Daniel Moyer arrived Thursday, May 18, at 10:08AM. He came into this world loudly "announcing" his displeasure with being disturbed from his peaceful abode. He weighed in at 7lb 7oz and 20.5inches, and has a cute pudgy face (but I may be a bit biased).

Kathy is doing reasonably well, although still in some significant pain and quite tired from not sleeping well. Although Noah appears healthy and normal, some blood work did not return as expected, and while not needing immediate intervention, he may soon need to make his way to Childrens' Hospital at UofPenn for further investigation. This of course has us very concerned and anxious. Yet in God we trust. He knew of this day and all those to follow long before we encountered them, and He will remain our creator and savior in all these things. Please hold us in your prayers.

News from Scott Moreau!

Barnes, Caleb and Stephen Moreau are pleased to announce the arrival of their new baby sister, Lydia Levering Moreau on May 21, 2006 at 4:32am (just after a 4:00am ER arrival!!) Lydia weighed 8lbs 6.5 oz and measured almost 21 inches long and is doing well. Vickylee was a champ, getting her natural childbirth experience that she has never sought or desired! She is very sore and tired but got a good night's sleep last night. Thanks for all of your prayers as we welcome this new little blessing from the Lord into our family."One who heard us was a woman named Lydia , from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple goods, who was a worshipper of God. The Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul." (Lydia, the first believer in the Philippian church) ~ Acts 16:14
