Help!!! Missing Camera!

My name is Alison Linton. My husband Jeff & I teach First Grade Bible School and are in Parish 4. We have seven kids and homeschool out here in West Chester. My NIKON N 70, a large black body camera with professional Flash Unit attached, has been Missing since Sunday April 26, 2009. I last used it to photograph Dori & Jim Baggs, the Primary Bible School students, teachers, and Dr. Jones, hoping to give photos of the Tenth Family to the Baggs Family as they leave this Sunday. I keep hoping it will turn up here at home, but alas, only the Lord sees where it is. I am lost without it and if you could please help me look, we all would be so grateful.

Herod's Temple

Check out this website of an amazing scale model of Herod's Temple - 30 years in the making and still adding.

Living Christ 360

The Living Christ 360 Web-based initiative, which began last September, features a daily broadcast with Dr. Bryan Chapell, president of Covenant Theological Seminary. Visitors are also encouraged to download more than 1,000 free resources, which include sermons, podcasts, daily devotionals, and classes...more

Death is Not Dying

A friend sent David Apple this 55 minute video testimony of a Christian with cancer and not much longer to live. It is a reminder for Christians that "death is not dying."

On Our Knees

Two of our outreach partners have a website for you to follow along in their work - Rich and Lori Wolfe. Rich is a former pastoral staff person at Tenth, having developed the Maranatha ministry.

Tithe Rap

Now that Phil is on sabbatical, I think it is time to experiment a little bit with the worship service. Nothing strange, maybe be a little more creative with Living Church. I'll see if I can get the three Trustees to do something like this.

Bots are Coming!

I just got a creepy email alerting me to "bots trolling the web for addresses." It makes me think of those things in The Matrix looking for the underground ships to destroy them. Anyhow, when you see an email address replacing @ with AT, rest assure that I am protecting the person from those dastardly bots.

New Members Class

The New Members Class begins this Sunday, June 7, at 9:00 a.m. There are many of you out there who have been attending church for weeks, months, even years, but have yet to make the commitment of membership. You can do it! C'mon! Take the step; take the plunge; say "I do."

We'll meet in the 315 Building across the street. I'll be there to welcome you. Mike and Lynne Frey will host the class. They are nice folks. You'll like them. We will even have elders - nice elders - to meet you.

The class will run for three months. Different speakers come in each week to introduce you to the beliefs and practices of the church. If you want to join the church, opportunity will be given on the last Sunday. Might miss some Sundays? We'll work it out with you.

Hope I'll see you Sunday. If you can, let Christy Corbett (ccorbett AT tenth.org) know you are coming.

New ACTS Website

I gives me great joy to announce that ACTS Ministries website www.activecompassionphilly.org is now public. In addition to ministry information, there are mercy links, articles, how-to resources, audio and video, and more. I pray that through this God will be honored and glorified and the kingdom will grow through word and deed ministry.

In addition, bargain hunters can pay an early admittance fee of $5 for entry between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Saturday. Free parking is available adjacent to the rink. All items are sold “as is” and all sales are final. Church Picnic

The Church Picnic is this Saturday, June 6, Noon–7pm. It will be held at the same location:

I will be bringing and playing the more civilized game of bocce. Phil is flying back from N. Ireland in time to play the sweatier games.

Steadfast Love

As many of you know, Jim and Deb Weidenaar lost an unborn daughter, Rachael, in April. At a memorial service for her, they each shared their story of God's work. You can find their stories at Tenth Messages.

Scripture in the Mind and Heart

Pat Canavan, Director of Children's Ministries, sent this info regarding scripture memory work:

I thought you might like an update on the memory work results now that we have reached the final deadline for the school year. In grades 1-6, we have an enrollment of 129 children. Of that number, 78 children completed their memory work for the year, an astounding 60%. We had an even more astounding 91% of our kids participate in the program. If you saw what they had to memorize, you would be doubly impressed; it is a massive body of scripture and catechism. Pray that this scripture would be remembered and take root in their lives as they enter the turbulent teen years.

Benefit Concert, June 13, 2009

Rachel Kuipers, viola, and Paul Jones, piano, will perform in a benefit concert for the Colombia trip at Tenth on Saturday, June 13, 7:30 pm. Wanted: Part-time Nanny / Babysitter

My wife and I are looking for a part-time nanny that is available to watch our children. We have two great kids ages 3 and 1. We are a Christian home and desire a good safe environment for our children.
Currently we need someone to watch the kids on Thursday afternoons from about 11am to 5-5:30pm. There are other days through out the year if interested. Our kids are full of energy and are well behaved. Our home is a 3-story twin. We are located in the Germantown area right off Germantown Avenue.

If interested, please email or call 215-991-6289 with contact information.
