Hosts for Hospitals Looking for Host Families
Hosts for Hospitals is a nonprofit agency providing free lodging and support at host-homes as a caring response to the housing needs of patients and their families who come to Greater Philadelphia for specialized medical care. Although they have an extensive host network, occasionally a housing need arises for which they do not have a host available. Currently they need four homes from June 8-July 1 in Chester and Delaware counties, and/or near Wilmington Delaware to lodge people who will be receiving services dogs from Canine Partners for Life (CPL). They especially need homes that are handicap accessible for two families.. For more information or if you or someone you know might be able to help out, click here for the message from Hosts for Hospitals.

A Guest with Good Sense
Heard at a recent Community Dinner: “It just makes good plain sense to come to Tenth Church to
hear the Word and be fed a good meal rather than revisit the emptiness and junk
food offered elsewhere.”

Building Purchase Approved
The congregation of Tenth Presbyterian Church met on Sunday, April 29, 2012, following the 11 am service and approved the following motion. The committee is working out other contingencies, including zoning.
In accordance with the Session Resolution passed April 24, 2012, we, the members of Tenth Presbyterian Church, resolve that there is a need for additional space to support current and future ministry work associated with the church.
Therefore, let it be resolved that the Session pursue purchasing the building located at 1716 Spruce Street, Philadelphia. Specifically, the congregation approves that the Trustees of the church offer to the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals the sum of $1,800,000.00 for the full purchase price of 1716 Spruce Street property in Philadelphia. To this end, the Trustees are empowered to secure the appropriate monies necessary for the purchase of and renovation to the property, informing the Session of their progress and updating the congregation at convenient intervals.

Workplace Witness - Sunday, May 6
Ever wonder how to share your faith with your coworkers, supervisors, classmates, and/or patients in a healthcare setting? Come and find out at the MCO Healthcare Fellowship Lunch on Sunday, May 6, 12:45-2:00 pm in Fellowship Hall. Dr. Bob Snyder will speak on "Journeying with Jesus - Being a Witness in the Workplace."
Dr. Snyder, a long-time friend of Tenth Presbyterian Church, serves as President of International Health Services and founder of International Saline, a training program in personally sharing the good news for healthcare workers. Every graduate of IS that I've met speaks very highly of the life-transforming training that they received.
So, no excuses! Come for lunch, and bring a friend!
