Narnia Reflections

Tenth member Sam Thomas visited the Narnia Exhibit that was held at the Franklin Institute. He wrote an account of his experience which is posted on Tenth Messages.

Town Hall

I've been made aware of "Town Hall for Hope" event that will address handling finances in today's economy. I don't know enough to endorse it, but Crown Financial Ministries speaks well of the speaker, Dave Ramsey. Here is the website, if you'd like to check it out.

The Champion

Forget the NCAA tournament. The real tournament is in video car racing. Last night, my son-in-law Lucas won the prestigious event of Nintendo Wii Mario Kart racing. He is using his winnings to support his wife's parents in their retirement. Is this guy great or what!

The Secret Treasure

Corson Speaking

Come hear Dr. Thomas Corson, internist from Johns Hopkins and missionary to Bangladesh, speak at the Tenth healthcare fellowship luncheon on the topic of "Managing Stress: and having a balanced life". We will meet in fellowship hall at 12:45 pm for lunch. RSVP to Tenthhealthcarefellowship@gmail.com

Housing Sought

Matt Kardel is looking for housing for the summer and possibly for the next two years. He has been teaching math in Asia for two years and was a member of an EPC church in Michigan. He is coming to Philadelphia to study at Wharton and was accepted into the Lauder program also. His needs are simple, and he doesn’t own much in the way of things. He desires to keep his housing costs low to decrease his living expenses for the next two years. He will be in town April 16- April 18 and he will go to Tenth on the 19th. He would probably prefer to be in the city because he won’t have a car. Contact is djcummings@dxpost.come

The Calvinist Wife

With PCRT just a month away, here is a song for all you husbands whose wives would rather spend a weekend at PCRT than go to the shore.

Help Clean Up Philly!

This Saturday (April 4) is the annual Philly Clean Up Day! Join people from the city and from Tenth as they clean up local neighborhoods-- a great way to care for your city in a tangible way! The time commitment is minimal (only 10 am - 12:30 pm); come for as much of it as you can.

Contact Joe Yasso (joseph.yasso@gmail.com) to join the group from Tenth.

Check out the website for more information.

Marriage Seminar

I got word that Paul Tripp will bring one of his seminars to Tenth in the fall. It will be a marriage seminar and is scheduled for September 25-26. You should be hearing more about it in May.

Christ Liberation Fellowship

Christ Liberation Fellowship is pleased to announce its service of organization for April 26, 6:00 p.m., at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, located on the corner of 65th Street and Lansdowne Avenue.

What this means is that CLF will move out of its status as a mission church plant and be recognized as a "particular" church with its own board of elders. This has been a long awaited event, and we rejoice with our brothers and sisters of that congregation. Lance Lewis, who was a member of Tenth and served on our staff, is the organizing pastor.

Table Tennis, Anyone?

Where can a person play some table tennis in Philadelphia?

Yes, But

I can't decide if Paul is responding to Phil's sermon title or Phil is responding to Paul's:

You Never Know - Phil

Real Security - Paul

Paul, by the way is beginning a new sermon series on 1 Peter this Sunday.

Prayer Accessibility

I've posted my latest prayer based on the Psalms. This one is from Psalm 18:25-50. You may have been unable to access the documents due to the last version of Word that I've been using. I am now posting with a format you should be able to access. I'll go back during the week and repost the others as well.
