The Newest Cedeno Is Here!

Elijah Cedeno was born safely this morning at 4:25 am and weighed in at 7lbs. 14oz. Everyone is doing well. Ruth Hoover or Judith Shultes will be coordinating meals for the Cedenos so if let one of them know if you can help.

In the Woods

Ginger and I just finished our splendid breakfast at the Swiss Woods Bed & Breakfast. We are spending two nights here thanks to the church's gift. If you want to see the place, click here. We are staying in the Lake of Geneva room. We've learned that several Tenth folks have used this place, including Carroll Wynne whom one of the owners Debbie describes as a Messiah College buddy.

Help Needed

A person at Tenth needs a few people to periodically sit with her elderly mother during weeknight evenings. The sitter will not need to do anything for her except to keep her company in her Yeadon, PA home. This will help fill the 2 or 3 hours during the evenings, from the time that the mother’s home health care aide leaves for the day until the family returns home from work and school.
If you can help, please contact Shirley at 610-738-6319 during the week and at 610-259-5756 during the weekends.

Biloxi Trip Meeting

There will be a meeting this Sunday (11/19) after church in the 18th street Amen pews to talk about a trip to Biloxi the end of December. Right now the plan is to go down probably the 28th of December and stay through the 6th of January. That will allow for a good solid week of work, and should only result in 4 (maybe 3, depending on your employer) days of missed work/school.

As rebuilding in the Gulf area continues, the need for those experienced in construction is great. If you have these skills, perhaps this opportunity for service is for you. You can join the team without construction experience, of course!

Christmas Gifts

Yes, it is time to think about Christmas presents. Have you considered giving music performed at Tenth or by Tenth members and related performers? Click "Paul Jones Music" on the right column, then "Recordings" at his site. The list includes two Christmas cds.

Missions Books

I received from Amazon today (a little late!) copies of Window on the World: When We Pray God Works, the children's guide to praying for the nations we had highlighted for our Missions Conference. I have five copies left and if you are interested in purchasing one, please drop me an email cfitzpatrick@ tenth.org. They are 13.59 each.

Here's a description of the book: Window on the World by Daphne Spraggett and Jill Johnstone. This beautifully presented and practical book is the ideal accompaniment to Operation World. Short stories about featured countries or people groups help relate foreign lands and people to children in the West. Each page includes a small map putting the country into perspective with neighboring countries, a fact box with essential country and people information, and prayer points.

At Family Life Commission meetings, we try to focus upon issues regarding our children and families in the church. It is for this reason we post the following picture so all will know Mr. Canavan is celebrating birthdays (during our meeting), is growing older (all activities to the contrary) and is (we hope) gaining in wisdom. Happy Birthday, Pat.

Back to Luke

Now that "Vision Month" is over and the Missions Conference is past, Phil picks back up in Luke where he left off. Can you say where he picks up without looking?

Away

I am out of the church this week on vacation. Jonathan Olsen is also away for two weeks on vacation and study leave. For two of our days, Ginger and I will be at the bed and breakfast that the church gave us a money gift to use on my 25th ordination anniversary. Thanks for making this possible for us!
