Good Crocheter
If you have gone to a Bible school class in the 315 Building, you will have seen our sexton Carl Green keeping watch over the door and building. He might also be doing something else on the side, as this picture shows sent from Lisa Hammell. She tells me that he gives his work away as gifts. She also tells me that his birthday is January 28. Gee, I wonder what he would appreciate getting for gifts.
Good Educator
Elder Tom Elliott took a trip to Venezuela for his sabbatical last year and discovered a jewel box of music. Here is his YouTube report.

Good Writers
Former Tenth staff are busy writing or getting their writing published these days. In the past seven days, the Gospel Coalition published excerpts from Phil Ryken's inauguration message. byFaith magazine published an article by former pastor Rick Phillip's on "The Masculine Mandate." Former member and intern Lance Lewis wrote the lead article in byFaith on race issues in the PCA. And former intern Anthony Bradley wrote a column in World magazine on planting urban Christian schools, citing Philadelphia as an example of innovation in this area.
Meanwhile, I continue to hold the world's attention with my blog.

Good Musicians
I once asked a music lover what kind of music he liked. He replied, "I like listening to good musicians." If that describes you, then you will like listening to the Chamber Music Recital Friday night, 7:30 p.m. We will have Philadelphia Orchestra musicians David Kim, Rachel Ku, and Joseph Conyers. Joining them will be Anne Martindale Williams of the Pittsburgh Orchestra. The four will perform the first half of the program and then be joined by Paul Jones on the piano for the second half.
The musical pieces will be:
Schubert - "Trout" Quintet
Bach - Mvts. from Partita No. 1 in B minor
Bruch - Kol Nidrei
Paganini - Caprice in A Minor
Kile Smith - American Spirituals (Vols. 1 & 2)

Request for Baby Items
Hello, we are a couple who attend Tenth's evening services and need your help! Please let me (Stephanie, icedpeonies@yahoo.com) know if you have any baby items tucked away that are no longer needed. We are having a baby boy in late May and need help getting prepared. Brandon is a full time student, currently unemployed, and I am a waitress working night shifts. Anything would help, including maternity items (size 12/medium/tall). With thanks, and may God bless you - Stephanie and Brandon

Stepping Down Dates
Below is the posting of Paul's announcement that he will be stepping down as Assistant Minister to Center City so that he can devote full-time to Paul Tripp Ministries. His final Sunday preaching will be March 20 in the morning, and March 6 in the evening. I should note, however, those will be his final Sundays as a staff member. We will be calling upon Paul to preach and serve in other ways, as he continues to be an active participant in the life of Tenth.
A New Season of Ministry
The following is copied from Paul Tripp's blogsite
Proverbs 16:9 says, " A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." We all have experienced the fact that the plans you make don't always turn out as you envisioned. Such has been my experience in my ministry at Tenth Presbyterian Church. In 2006 I was given the honor of serving on the pastoral staff at Tenth, leading its ministry to Center City Philadelphia, where Tenth is located, and preaching in the Sunday evening service. The plan was that I would split my time between Tenth and Paul Tripp Ministries, my writing and speaking ministry. Over the last four years my ministry outside of Tenth has greatly expanded. I am very aware and humbled by the fact that God has given me a worldwide platform that few get and I feel a strong calling to be a good steward of that platform.
