University City Apt. for Rent

Email for more information.

WOW! What a summer!

Last Sunday marked the end of WOW. All told, WOW kids read over 280 books about other cultures and God's work in them. They also wrote partners, kept prayer logs, hosted visiting workers and tried lots of ethnic foods. Through their efforts and the generosity of the congregation, a thousand Bibles will make their way to children in the Indian sub-continent! We celebrated in a big way with puppets and ice cream sundaes. Wow!

Joyful Hope

TCF Weekly Prayer Request

Please continue to pray for the new Bible School Class. Pray that the Word of God would be faithfully taught. Also, please pray for the Retreat on September 28-30 that students would register and the time we share in Ocean City would be fun and encouraging. Praise God for the many students we've seen at the small groups and the welcome lunches! Pray that they might make Tenth their home church for the years to come.

How to Live Longer

Proverbs 10:27

The fear of the Lord prolongs life,
but the years of the wicked will be short.

I wonder if there is any life insurance company that uses this criteria in evaluating life expectancy. They do evaluate lifestyle. One who fears the Lord, diligently obeying his laws, should have better odds of living longer than the one whose wicked life invites danger and violence. Read more »

The Sluggard

Proverbs 10:26

Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes,
so is the sluggard to those who send him.

As vinegar sets teeth on edge and smoke stings the eyes, in the same way the sluggard exasperates and irritates those who depend on him. In this case, he is sent to carry out a work for another - perhaps delivering a message or an item; perhaps retrieving an item. Whatever the case, he wastes time and likely costs his employer money, maybe squandering an opportunity for his employer.

The Tempest

Proverb 10:25

When the tempest passes, the wicked is no more,

Of Dread and Desire

Proverb 10:24

What the wicked dreads will come upon him,
but the desire of the righteous will be granted.

The wicked dreads judgment. He dreads getting caught for his wickedness and receiving his just reward. The righteous desire the reward of heaven, of being received into glory and hearing the blessing of his Lord. Each is sure to receive what is coming to him.

Breaking ground in Malawi

Over 11% of the population in Malawi suffers with HIV. We sent part of our 2012 Easter Sacrificial Offering there to help the Mpando Presbytery build HIV treatments centers. They have now broken ground and they sent us this picture as a reminder to pray.
