Liam Goligher
This Sunday a new era in the life of Tenth Presbyterian Church begins as Liam Goligher assumes the pulpit. The congregation of Tenth rejoices in the Lord's provision.
Schola Cantorum
Schola Cantorum will be wrapping up their year this Sunday night, May 15.
Students should be dropped off at the choir loft by 5:30. They are wearing black and white for this performance (you can drop off a change of clothes at the 315 building for the pizza party if you'd like). After the children sing that night, we'll take them to the 315 building for the party. You should pick them up at the regular time and place at 7:40pm.

Blogger Down
Yesterday (Thursday), the blogger system went down. I have just gotten access, but have lost the postings of Thursday and don't know if they will come back up. If you had something you needed posted and it is lost, send it back in.
Rental in Art Museum Area
I am a Tenth member who has been renting an apartment in the Art Museum for the last three years. I'm moving to a smaller apartment, but I wanted to let others at Tenth know about the vacancy in my current apartment. It is a beautiful two bedroom apartment with a large living room/dining room, hardwood floors, private patio, and extra storage in the shared basement. My landlord is wonderful and usually takes care of problems within a day! There is a coin operated laundry in the basement. The 48, 32, and 7 buses all make stops right near the apartment.

Medical Outreach this Saturday
Medical Campus Outreach is hosting an evangelistic/medical outreach in Hunting Park this Saturday, May 14th, at 12:30 PM. They will be going door to door doing medical screens, praying with people and sharing the gospel. No medical knowledge is needed—just willing hands and a joyful heart. Spanish speakers are especially needed. For more information or to sign up contact MCO at mco.smi.tenth@gmail.com.
Colombia Team Help
A short-term team is serving in Colombia, August 4-15. They could still use medical personnel and Spanish translators. If you are interested, email Sophie Kim before May 22.

Car needed for global partners
One of our missionary families serving in the Middle East whom we support will be returning to the US June 15th to Aug. 26 and will be in need of a car during this time. They will be based in Philadelphia but will also travel to northern New Jersey and Florida. If you could serve these missionaries by lending them your car for part or all of this time, please contact Sophie at skim(at)tenth.org or x240. Thanks in advance for your generosity.
Young Musician Needs Short-term Housing
A young Christian organist has the wonderful opportunity to attend the camp held at the Curtis Institute and needs housing from June 23 to July 1. His meals and daily activities are covered, he just needs a place in Center City or with an easy train commute to Center City to sleep and keep his belongings. Dr. Jones endorses him and says he is very responsible and respectful. His name is Philip Fillion, and he will be attending Wheaton College in the Fall. If you can provide a room, please email.
Open for Business
I came in this morning and found this email from our Senior Minister Liam Goligher. (No more "next"; as of today he is officially our Senior Minister).
"The great day has arrived and I'm open for business. Up at 5am working on Acts (who knew 'it is the most difficult NT book to interpret'?). Next Sunday (5/22) morning's sermon - 1 Samuel 1:21-2:10 - Your Kingdom Come."
The Acts reference is his evening sermon series. I hope the "5am" reference is not the new hours he is planning for church staff.

Jason Stryd
Jason Stryd is being ordained as a minister at Northeast Community Church, 3300 Tyson Avenue, this coming Sunday evening, May 15, at 6:00. This is the PCA church plant that we provided support for through the capital campaign. The other ministers are Maranatha Chung, who used to be a member here, and Vinnie Tauriello.
Tomorrow
Today is the last day without a Senior Minister. Tomorrow, Liam Goligher bears that title for Tenth Church. Again, he will not actually be on site. That will happen on Sunday. But be giving thanks now for the Lord's provision, and be getting ready for a new era of ministry.

Finding a Church
So, you are going on vacation or even moving away, and you want to know of a nearby PCA church. Go to the denomination's site by clicking "Presbyterian Church in America" on the right-hand column and click "Church Directory" at the top. You will find all the churches of the denomination.
Anna and Her Art
Anna Taylor is graduating from Gordon College in art. "What kind of art?" you ask. Check out the front page of Gordon's website to find out.
E-blast News
An e-blast will be going out today to Tenth members and attenders about events surrounding the Golighers arrival and ways to help. Because you are smart enough to read my blog, you get the news first. Here it is:
Dear Church Family and Friends,

Almost Here
Two days to go before Liam Goligher officially is on the payroll and takes the title of Senior Minister. But he is already emailing me with ideas. How did he get my email anyhow? Phil Ryken must have passed it on.
He and Christine fly in tomorrow, but not here. They will stay a few days with their daughter and drive over to a home in Haddonfield on Saturday. We don't see him until he walks into the church on Sunday into his study. Hhmm...I suppose I should move my stuff out of there before then.
