The Angels Are Rejoicing

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." Psalm 116:15

Our dear sister, Phoebe Blair, went to be with the Lord tonight. Please pray for Howard and their family as they will especially miss her. For those who did not know Phoebe, she was a wonderful woman of prayer, wisdom, and possessed a great sense of humor. Her presence with us in worship will be missed.

Getting Married

THE unexpected, big wedding is taking place tomorrow. No, no...I don't mean Cora. That's next weekend. I'm talking about Mark Brown getting married tomorrow in Charlottesville, Virginia to Anne McCain. Mark Brown married...Cora married...Phil a college president. And it's only April!

July Housing Needed

A PCA minister will be on sabbatical this summer from North Carolina and will be doing research at Princeton during the latter half of July. He will be travelling with his family (2 adults, 3 kids) and hopes to pay to stay in someone's home that might be vacant during that time period (July 15-30). Their dates are flexible. Geographically, they are willing to stay anywhere from Philly headed toward Princeton, but the closer to Princeton the better. I presume Jerry McFarland will vouch for him, as he is the Senior Minister of Peace Presbyterian Church in Cary, N.C., the church where Jerry serves. If you have a place, email Andy Jones.

Not done with Donne

For those curious about the funeral portrait of John Donne which Phil talked about in his Easter sermon, wonder no more. Now we see it: the hint of the smile, the eyes arched as if they are about to fly open--the portrait of one waiting for the resurrection. We found it at this site which gives more details on how the living Donne posed for it.
