English camp in France looking for Male Counselor

A great opportunity for someone who would like to serve for a couple of weeks in France.

Greetings Folks:
Would appreciate any help you can give to this need.
I need 1 male counselor for English Camp, July 16-30.  Needs to be an older fellow, out of the College years, good with kids, high power, low maintenance.  I need to fill the one last slot which is the oldest boys cabin.  Any suggestions, I am all ears.  Otherwise, please pray.  Many thanks.

Please email skim(at)tenth.org or call x240 for more information.

Cars needed for partners

We have two overseas partners who will be back in the States on furlough this summer and will be in need of cars during their time here.  One partner will be in the NYC-Philly area for two weeks with his family in late July.  The other partner will be here with his family from June 15 to August 30.  If you have or know of anyone who has a spare car that they might be able to lend to our partners during those times, please email me at skim(at)tenth.org or call x240.  Thanks!

Lodging Needed

Sarah Al Sawah is a Lebanese Protestant working on her doctorate in nursing at Penn. Her parents are visiting Philadelphia from May 14 to June 12, and need a a furnished one bedroom apartment or mother-in-law suite that is modestly priced where her parents could stay during their visit.
Please contact her via e-mail or 215-909-0833.

Help Wanted at Handi*Camp

Handi*Camp (for people with disabilities) is looking for staff members (paid positions):
  • RNs or LPNs as assistant nurses for many of their six weeks (two in PA - May 30-June 3, June 6-10; 4 in NJ - June 13-18, June 20-24, June 27-July 1, July 3-8). Many of their assistants just work one week.
  • Counselors - MEN NEEDED - ideally for full six weeks, but sometimes shorter periods are available (some women counselors for a few of our weeks are needed, too)
  • Continuing to pray for God to provide their next nurse manager (RN) - this is a missionary position, although could have part-time outside nursing employment to supplement support; option to receive spring/summer salary instead of missionary position.
  • Looking for folks to form a couple of new one-week cooking teams for some of their NJ sessions - cooks and assistants.
Check out their website. Contact Brian Robinson for more information about these opportunities via e-mail or 717-859-4777.

Back in Time

I'm back and not too soon. Chaos everywhere, which is typical when I've been away.

Actually my office does look chaotic. Everything has been taken out of my closets in preparation for the HVAC system being installed in the Delancey building. We'll see how long I can hold out here before being kicked out.

Wheaton captures another Tenth member!

Meredith Riedel, who escaped with her husband Detlev to England, there to be cloistered at Oxford University while studying Medieval languages and history (not to mention her post-doc work in Syriac texts) has just been offered and accepted an assistant professorship of history at Wheaton College! Although it is not Philly, we hope they may make a pilgrimage back here once in a blue moon.

Congratulations! Glad you are coming back to this side of the pond! (With continued prayer for a job opening for Detlev!)
