Make that business travel count!

Going overseas? Consider filling your suitcase with theological tomes.

John Piper's Desiring God ministry is working to alleviate "worldwide theological famine" by putting resources in the hands of national pastors. Shipping is expensive. To get around that, they want to mobilize believers doing international travel to act as theological book couriers.

To join the force, just let Desiring God's International Outreach team know your travel plans. They'll ship you books and instructions. You can read the details here.

It's Ramadan

Today more than one fifth of the world's population will begin the month long fast of Ramadan when Muslims refrain from eating or drinking from sunrise to sunset.

What a great time for us to pray that they will come to know the mercy and grace God offers us through Jesus.

To help guide our praying, one of our partners has suggested we use this ebook: 30 Days 2010.

WOW kids took home the children's version last week. If you missed it, it is available for download here.

Update from Colombia Team

Matt Wright, team leader, writes:
"I have only a few minutes to send an update on the Colombia team. We have been very busy here with medical and optical clinics on Friday, Saturday, and Monday. Matt and Jenn Ebling, Meridith Carter, and I have been working in the medical clinic. We have seen 60 to 70 people each day, some with severe problems, some with hardly any problem at all. Harry Landrum and Kathryn and Jacob Stevens have been working in the optical clinic, seeing about 80 people each day. Many Colombian volunteers have helped, too. The pastors and church members have been doing evangelism with people coming to the clinics. Many people who come are already part of the churches, but others are not.
