Tutoring for Home Schoolers

From kindergarten through 12th grade, Sarah Boghosian was homeschooled along with her three siblings by her courageous parents who followed the classical approach to education.  She graduated from Gordon College in Wenham, MA in 2005 with a BA in English Language and Literature and a minor in history.  From fall 2005 through spring 2007, she taught Grammar and Composition, American Literature I and II, and Introduction to the Study of Literature and Writing to homeschooled students at The Westminster School in Bellmawr, NJ.
In 2007, she received her PA Level I Teaching Certificate and began teaching 9th grade English, Rhetoric, and Ancient World History full time at a private, classical Christian School in Brookhaven, PA called The Christian Academy.  From 2005 to the present, Sarah has tutored homeschooled students privately in her home and virtually via Skype in academic and creative writing, SAT preparation, and literature.  She loves interacting with students of all ages and ability levels and is eager to partner with homeschooling parents to provide their children with a quality, Christian education.

Says Sarah, “In my experience serving homeschooling families in a tutoring capacity for more than six years, providing writing instruction and feedback can be a particularly daunting task for parents.  Because grading writing can be so subjective, it is difficult for parents to gauge the quality, strengths, and weaknesses of their child’s writing and to adequately prepare them for college writing, especially in the high school years.  I am excited to assist parents with this challenge by providing quality writing instruction to homeschooling families.”
