Memorial Service Update

I have sent out an email letter to the congregation giving the final update on Thursday's memorial service. You will want to check the latest on parking.

Dear Church Family,

I want to bring you up-to-date for Thursday's memorial service for Sam Hsu. The service begins at 10:00am, but you want to be present for the prelude that begins at 9:30. It will include musicians who have collaborated with Sam over the years, as well as former students. Expect the service to run until 11:30. Overflow seating will be provided. A reception will follow.

Guest participants include Phil Ryken, who will give the message, and Ken Larter providing the pastoral prayer. Words of remembrance will be given by myself on behalf of Tenth, the president of Philadelphia Biblical University, and the head of Csehy Summer School of Music.

The service will be webcast and later posted. You can access the webcast at www.tenth.org, then click the "Sermons/Webcast" link. Childcare will not be provided.

Parking
We will have some on-street parking:
• Both sides of Spruce from 17th to 18th
• Both sides of 17th from Spruce to Pine
• Both sides of 18th from Spruce to Pine
However, these privileges do not begin until 9:30. You cannot park before then.

We have made arrangements for a special one-time discount parking from the following lots for this memorial service. (You will need, as usual, to validate your ticket using a stamper from the Delancey lobby or the narthex.)
• Parking garage between 18th and 17th on South: $5
• Parking lot at 17th and Pine: $7 (if you enter before opening and don't have a ticket, show parking placard)
• Parking lot at 15th and South: $7

Information about parking and the service (including the program once it is ready) can be found at the church website, www.tenth.org.

Memorial Gifts
The family requests that donations be made to Philadelphia Biblical University ("Sam Hsu Memorial" on the memo line), 200 Manor Avenue, Langhorne, PA 19047.

I am sure you want to know the circumstances of Sam's death. He was hit by a car while crossing 21st Street between Arch and Cherry Streets, a block from his home. He was heading to catch a train for PBU. The driver did stop and obtain help. In a matter of minutes an ambulance arrived and took him to Hahnemann Hospital where he was immediately taken to surgery. We do not know more details about the accident. Keep Sam's two brothers Timothy and Andrew in prayer. Timothy also has a family. Pray as well for the college. Many present and past students (including our own music director) were deeply devoted to Sam. And, of course, lift up one another in the church.

Visitation
The family will receive visitors Wednesday, December 7, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Dunn-Givnish Funeral Home, 378 S Bellevue Ave, Langhorne, PA 19047.

The Lord's blessings be with you.

Marion
