Free time? Free things to do at the Kimmel Center

Sunday, March 15
1:30pm and Approx. 5:00pm Commonwealth Plaza Stage Free in the Plaza
Ceol Mór (“big music” in Irish) is a band that came out of the Philadelphia traditional Irish Music scene. It consists of Marian Bradley Gittelman – fiddle, Thomas Gittelman – bouzouki, mandolin & concertina, Michael Copeland – flute & whistles, and Bob Bender – guitar. The band owes it inspiration to numerous local musicians past & present.

Tuesday, March 17
6:30pm Commonwealth Plaza Free in the Plaza
River of Life Martial Arts Center of Fort Washington, PA, visits the Kimmel Center to demonstrate the sword arts of the Samurai warriors: Ken Jutsu, Iai jutsi, Iaido and Aiki jujutsu. 'Tameshigiri' the Japanese art of target test cutting, will also be demonstrated. River of Life Martial Arts will perform in the Commonwealth Plaza prior to the ticketed KODO performance at 8pm in Verizon Hall.
