Note from Frank Harder

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Thank you for your prayers for me and my family in our time of loss at my father's passing last week.

For those who may be interested, I have included my father's obituary as information. His name is the same as mine, so don't be confused.

Frank Harder

Frank Harder Sr., 89, died on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the Lutheran Manor Assisted Living in Truman, MN. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church in St. James, MN. Pastor Don Crissinger-Clark officiated. Burial was at Butterfield City Cemetery in Butterfield, MN.

Frank Raymond Harder was born October 14, 1918 at Lostwood, ND to parents David P. Harder and Anna (Derksen) Harder. He was raised in Butterfield, MN and was baptized at the First Mennonite Church of Mt. Lake. Frank graduated from Butterfield High School. He served in the Army Air Force from February 1942 until October 1945 serving in the South West Pacific for three years and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. On May 10, 1947 Frank married Helen M. Peterson in Butterfield. Frank worked as a grain buyer and country elevator manager. He served on the Butterfield Fire Dept. for 27 years, was a Charter and Life member of the Donald Larson VFW Post. He was a Charter member, exhibitor and Board member of the Butterfield Threshing Bee. He and Helen were members of the First Presbyterian Church in St. James where Frank was an Elder and Trustee. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting and working at Voss Park.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 2 brothers David Jr. and Walter and a sister Marie Schleuter.

Frank is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Frank and Barbara Harder of Philadelphia, PA and their children Jason and Jeff; brother Robert & Judy Harder of Sun Lakes, AZ; sisters Tillie Dick of Crosby, MN, Hazel Hanes of Toledo, OH, and a sister-in-law Maxine Harder of Downy, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
