Day One

Hey Marion,
My mom though that Tenth members would be interested in seeing pictures from the first day of Spruce Hill. However, I think of this more as a transaction: I'm exchanging pictures for prayer. I would appreciate if you would share this on your blog.

Today was alot of work, but also a ton of fun. We had 208 children, but public schools aren't out yet so we still expect quite a few more. The kids first went to opening program, where they learned about man's original sin, and God's plan of salvation. The remainder of the two weeks will see this plan worked out; culminating in our presentation of Jesus Christ as the only solution to man's sin problem. Following the opening program kids are divided into "Bible Buddy groups," which consist of one or two leaders and a few peers, where they discuss the day's opening program. Next, they go to classes (art, science, hodgepodge, etc), to do fun activities. The agenda following lunch changes depending on the day. Today's afternoon activity was a carnival. We set up a variety of stations: goal scoring, a fashion show, bowling, coin tossing, ping-pong ball aiming, which had candy prizes.

Tomorrow will be a similar schedule, but the afternoon will be water activities and a movie. We would appreciate your prayers for safety and health, for patience and godly interactions with children, and for physical endurance.

Thanks
