YoungLives
Women, here is a ministry you may be interested getting involved in. The director attended my church when we both were in Florida.)
YoungLives is a relational ministry where women have the opportunity and privilege of coming alongside teen moms during their greatest time of need and telling them about God’s amazing love and forgiveness. As we teach these girls God’s truths and extend God’s grace to them we realize that we are impacting two generations for eternity! In YoungLives we are watching God change teen moms in Philadelphia, one girl at a time.
YoungLives recognizes that teen moms navigate isolating and overwhelming circumstances, and that these young women need godly vision-casting even more than most adolescents. Consider Rena who had her first baby when she was 14. She lives in one of Philadelphia’s transitional housing with her 5 year old daughter and 1 year old son. She has been in 14 different schools and has lived most of her life in shelters in Philadelphia. YoungLives paired Rena with a mentor who has been taking her to her church each Sunday and spends time with her and her children on a weekly basis. This summer she went to YoungLives camp and rededicated her life to Christ. She regularly attends Bible study with YoungLives and encourages girls at YoungLives Club. Praise God!
Young women like Rena often focus on the hopelessness of their situation, but YoungLives helps them see themselves as Jesus would—with a focus on who He has made her to be, how much he loves her and the abundant life He offers her. This begins when a YoungLives volunteer befriends her and shares with her the promise and love of God. It continues to blossom as a local church body comes around her and her children.
YoungLives is maintained by the faithful support of volunteers. We need more help! Here are some more ways you can be involved: Mentor a teen mom, help each month at Club ( set up, clean up, decorating), make the meal or prepare a craft for Club. We also need babysitters for our monthly Club and twice a month Bible study. We are always looking for donations of baby items and financial support. If you have a heart for teen moms, there is a place for you in YoungLives. Will you consider joining us in this vital work?

I work @ a school for teen moms and many of my students have gotten involved in the Norristown branch of Young Lives. It is really a wonderful organization and has been great for my students.
