Moses Licensed

Liam Goligher was not the only Tenth-related person to be examined on Saturday. Moses Wong was examined for licensure and was also approved. What is licensure? The Book of Church Order explains: "To preserve the purity of the preaching of the Gospel, no man is permitted to preach in the pulpits of the Presbyterian Church in America on a regular basis without proper licensure from the Presbytery having jurisdiction where he will preach."

Ordinarily it is a step toward ordination, and two of our pastoral staff are licensed - Jonny McGreevy and Robert Polen. There are some men who become licensed to preach without going on for ordination. One of our ruling elders, Nasrat Ghattas, is licensed to preach, as is one of our global outreach partners.

Moses will be going for ordination which he takes the position he is preparing for, to be a seminary professor in his home land.
