Border, Baggs, and Bliss

How is it that work can be so pleasurable?

We return from our time on the Border with grateful hearts and delight. It was as if God completed our joy by giving us an unexpected finish to our time. On our day of departure we found our flight delayed out of El Paso causing us to miss our connection in Houston. We were rescheduled to fly out the next day. As we were puzzling about what to do, we bumped into our dear friends Dori and Jim Baggs from our home church who were saying good-bye to their son Colin (stationed at Fort Bliss) and his wife Keri after a weekend visit. They heard our plight and Colin immediately invited us to stay overnight at their house. And to top it off, since we were re-routed through Phoenix with a lay over of two hours, we were able to have a sweet reunion with Nell’s brother and wife for an hour or so since they kindly came to the airport. This was like icing and a cherry on top!

Thank you for your prayers. We were able to visit everyone in El Paso, Ciudad Juarez, and Nogales with some visits with special friends as well. There couldn’t have been a more clear presentation of the Gospel that morning.

See our blog site for more details and photos.
