Matt Logie

Coach McFarland sent this in about his star athlete with the comment, "One of my runners has qualified for the State Indoor Track meet (the first we have had); as well he finished second in the Delaware County Indoor Championships."

The weather may be cold outside, but DC Senior Matt Logie has been setting a blazing pace on the Indoor Track Circuit. The Indoor meets are run 200 meter surfaces each Saturday and consist of athletes from the four county area. Matt has finished no worse than 3rd; he won his first Indoor race in early January at Lehigh University. His place and times in these meets have qualified him to compete in the Meet of Champions Meet in later February. At the recent Delaware County Indoor Track and Field Championships (the best of Delaware County track athletes) at Glen Mills School, he finished an amazing 2nd place in the 800 meters just missing first place by .06 seconds. His time, however, qualified him for the Pennsylvania State Indoor championships at Penn State in early March. According to his coach, Dr. George McFarland, “Matt has still not peaked and the big meets ahead should push him to run even better. He certainly will be competitive with the best in the area.” Matt has been accepted to Grove City College and plans to compete in cross country and track.
