What a blessed reminder this essay is!!! Thanks for passing it on.
This reminds me of Psalm 134 --
The psalm talks about those who "stand by night in the house of the Lord" presumably had very few people paying attention to what they did. But they are encouraged to bless the Lord and be blessed by the Lord.
This has always struck me as the psalm of those whose work is unseen.
