New Hymnals
When you sit down in the pew in the sanctuary this Sunday, you will find new green hymnals. The words are still the same!

What will happen to the old hymnals? Are any of them in good enough shape to donate them somewhere?
or sold for a discount to members? ;)
Making the old hymnals available ( free or discount) would provide a great opportunity for teaching about and encouraging "family worship" at home.....
I stopped into the church today on the way through the city... The wall of of hymnals that stretched in front of the pulpit, stacked up in preparation to remove them was quite a sight!
And, while we are talking about Hymnals, there seems to be a pretty consistent need for additional hymnal in the balconies... can we have some additional hymnals placed up there?
I agree with either donating them to a chruch in need (gulf coast or local) or with making them available to homes or home biblestudies at a discount. As I type I am running off addtional copies of the first hymn for next week insert from the children's bulletin. We will sing this at our biblestudy tonight and also use it in our family devotion time. A few extra inexpensive hymnals would save me time, effort, paper and ink and might expand our singing choices.
How about donating them to Schola Cantorum, to use as prizes for hymn memorization?
At the church where I grew up, each child received a hymnal at the end of their first year in the children's choir. I received mine at age six and am still enjoying it today at age 43!
Thanks for your suggestions. They will be considered. Our initial plans were to see if mission church plants could use them. They will not be discarded.
I have a feeling the Schola kids might not be ecstatic over a hymnbook as an award.
