Book Review
By Jill Potts Jones – Freelance Writer
In many ways, Bryce Bartruff’s book, God, Your Money and You, isn’t much different than other books offering financial advice. What makes his book unique is his biblical approach and discussion questions and assignments that will help you apply what you learn and give you a headstart on coming to terms with your finances by the time you finish the book.
In addition, you will find forms and spreadsheets you can use as opposed to having to go online or purchase a membership which many financial gurus do. This book contains all the advice you need to get started towards managing your money, handling your debt and planning your future. Yes, some of it you will have heard before, but you may not have had access to the tools you need.
Bartruff’s book is a great resource for high school/college graduates or newlyweds who are just getting started and need a good base of financial knowledge and for anyone who needs to know how to better budget their money. One of the most useful chapters is “Finding Money You Never Knew You Had” with a list of 115 ways to save money. Some you may be familiar with, but others may never have crossed your mind. If you are trying to find a financial resource to help you manage your money or get out of debt, this is the book I’d recommend. Dr. Bartruff has taught personal finance for over 20 years. He travels the country conducting his five-hour seminar called “Fiscal Fitness” to individuals in all economic levels.
