Staff Retreat

We had a refreshing staff retreat yesterday, held on the ground of InFaith (formerly American Missionary Fellowship). Steve Estes, pastor of Elverson Community Church spoke, as well as Tenth elder and InFaith COO Bryce Bartruff.

On a more serious note,
we learned that Dora McFarland is the girl you want to pick, if you must pick a girl, for your football team. In the Bible Jeopardy game, Liam's team won first prize, though it was obvious that Robert "Alex Trebek" Polen showed favoritism. ("Where is Jericho" is not the same as "What is Jericho.") Anyhow, here is the answer that stomped all the contestants, including our senior minister. Under the category of "First Sentences in Books of the Bible, you must name the book: "There was a certain man of Ramathaim-zophim of the hill country of Ephraim whose name was Elkanah the son of Jeroham, son of Elihu, son of Tohu, son of Zuph, an Ephrathite."

Do you know the answer without looking it up?

The clue for me was that Elkanah was the husband of Hannah - The first chapter of I Samuel.

uh... ya for a girl, but there were some old guys that played, well they played... and Miss Nancy made a wonderful reception despite the pass interference by Robert Polen
