Women in the Word

Diana Frazier sent this:

Greetings from and to Women in the Word! The fourth annual Women in the Word: a Workshop was held October 2-3 at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Willow Grove, PA. Constance Wieler led the pre-workshop seminar "Where Do I Begin? The Essentials of Building a Bible Study"-a very helpful walk through techniques that help you get the most out of a Bible study, whether for yourself or leading others. Erika Moore, Associate Professor of Old Testament at Trinity School for Ministry (Ambridge, PA), taught three plenary sessions (and led Q&A), using the book of Ezekiel to guide the group through
· an understanding of the role of prophets,
· tracing the theme of glory through the Scripture, and
· how the prophets point ahead to Christ's fulfillment of Scripture.
Her engaging use of illustrations and her facility with the Scripture kept everyone enrapt, so the time flew by. Interspersed with the plenary sessions were small groups, which many call the meat of the Workshop, where women learned from one another while digging into God's word.

All of these talks are available for you to listen to and learn. Click here. (You can also access them from World Reformed Fellowship's website.

Next year Women in the Word: a Workshop will return to Calvary Presbyterian Oct. 1-2, 2010. Those who return multiple times find the puzzle pieces begin to fall into place more and more as we learn together from God's Word. Women are strengthened, encouraged, and equipped, returning to their churches with greater confidence and renewed commitment. Mark your calendars now, and we hope to see you again next year!
