Day of Prayer
This Sunday is the quarterly Day of Prayer. This a long-time tradition of the church to devote a Sunday morning in corporate prayer. Think about this. How often do you have the opportunity for an extensive time in prayer (one hour) with members of the church? Or more pointedly, how desirous are you to spend such time? We know that we will see a 50% drop in Bible school attendance this Sunday based on past records. It is hard to argue with the numbers. Until such a trend changes, we can never make the claim that we are a praying church. Perhaps we are a church with many members who pray, but no evidence that we believe in corporate prayer.
Perhaps fear of praying in public keeps you away. Perhaps the length of time is daunting. You will not be called upon to pray out loud, and I assure you that you will be surprised at how quickly the time goes by. We do break up the hour and give guidance and aids for prayer.
The prayer meeting at 9:00 will be held in Fellowship Hall West (the 18th Street side). The 11:00 meeting will be held in the 315 Building across the street on the first floor in the rear.
