Peggy and Carl Lingle

Carl Lingle shared this testimony of his mother Peggy, who died yesterday, and of his father Ralph, who died a few years ago:

We are truly grateful to the Lord for letting Mom die without pain and rapidly. She was 93 and a wonderful mom, grandmom, wife and servant of her Lord. My Mom until her last breath was happy in the Lord --she was a happy person and was an example of a very intelligent lady with a great background of teaching from her years at Tenth and friendship with Donald Grey Barnhouse, but in possession of a simple faith and willingness to put herself in the care and keeping of her heavenly Father. When she did not understand something, or if something happened which everyone would assess as terrible, she would simply admit she did not understand it but her trust was in the Lord who did understand it, and she knew what He was doing. This gave her a truly wonderful peace and joy and allowed her to command stability, as well as a tremendous level of power to honorably control the emotions of her family and glorify the Lord.

I am VERY grateful that the Lord blessed me with such wonderful Godly parents. Many would say that they were uneducated simple people -- I say, they raised two boys in the nurture and admonition of the Lord their Savior and in so doing, honored Him -- when you are dead the education part means nothing. Please don't misunderstand this, they were very much for education and provided the opportunities for their boys to get the best. It's just when I hear people say they were simple, I have to laugh because maybe they were simple, but both of their boys and all of our family knew that they were rooted and grounded in the matchless grace of the Lord, that we could trust them, and that they demonstrated (as they used to say) in "some small way" the love with which God loved us in a way that made them trustworthy. They were both great parents and if that is simple, then it is my opinion that we need a little more "simple" in the world.
