Mr. Baseball Hill

So, I'm in a room with Phil, Jonathan, and Fred Hill. I ask the "baseball experts" Phil and Jonathan, "What pitcher holds the record for most career victories after age 40?" Fred knew the answer immediately. Let's just say Phil and Jonathan would have needed a lifeline to stay in the game.

Do you have the same Phillies daily calendar that I do with the Phillies fact or MLB question of the day on it? This was one of the questions from last week. The answer is not as obvious as one might think.

My Phillies Fact for February 2 is:
"Phillies pitcher Hugh Mulcahy was the first Major League player to enter military service in World War II, March 8, 1941.

The answer to the question, by the way, is Phil Niekro (121 wins).

One of the things that keeps me from being a sports fan is the idea that real fans know long lists of rosters and stats for everyone. What's the fun in that?
