Casino Petition

The following was sent to me on behalf of the Chinese Christian Church and Center:

The Chinese Christian Church and Center has taken a public stance against the proposed construction of the casino at the gallery located on 10th and Market. Our concerns are as follows:
- We are concerned that it may have a negative impact on families in the community, leading to increases in divorce, suicide, bankruptcy, child abuse, and domestic violence.
- We are concerned that the casino will result in a skyrocketing of crime.
- We are concerned that gambling will hurt, not help, our existing businesses by siphoning away discretionary dollars that might otherwise have been spent at local restaurants and shops.

We ask that you join us in opposing the development of the proposed Gallery casino and supporting our efforts to keep our community healthy.
