Glad News from Ghana

Last Easter a portion of our offering went to support a prostitute rehabilitation program in Ghana. The African Enterprise leader who runs it contacted Tenth by IM today. Here is his report:

We had the graduation today for the phase one of our training. Twenty ladies graduated. The final report will be sent to you next week. The ladies were very grateful.

The programme is run in such a way that for the first 2 weeks they are given the opportunity to hear the gospel and to make a decision. All of the ladies committed their lives to Christ. Also they are encouraged to go to church during the training period and most of them have been attending church since we started. Some of the pastors have promised to follow them up and offer them the necessary support for them to remain in the faith. God bless you and the church for supporting this worthy programme.

Today after the graduation, 12 ladies who are friends of the former prostitutes who are also prostitutes came to me and asked that we write their names for the second phase. We have decided to start it early February 2009.

We have been praying for America, because whatever happens in America has its effect on other parts of the world. My teamleader made us to pray for America after the graduation. We spent about 25- 30 minutes for America before I came to the office. We are traveling to Kumasi tomorrow on a prayer retreat, and I believe America and 10th Presbyterian Church as well as the other church which supported us [Cresheim Valley] will be remembered.

Thank God for this partnership.
