September 11 Prayer

Let us remember this day, September 11, in prayer. I don't know if I will be able to do it, but I am going to try and webcast today, at noon a time of prayer.

Pray for the families and friends who lost loved ones on that day. Remember our troops, especially in Iraq and Afghanistan. Pray for our government officials and for our country's servants who are diligently working to protect us from terrorism.

Great Idea, wish I had seen your post before noon to try and catch the web cast. I spent part of our homeschool day talking about 9/11/01 and what it was like and what a blessing it was to have the W. Philly Women's Bible study to be at that morning where we could pray and support each other, to walk home from there with Paul who had been let off work early and have him sing Psalm 2 as we walked, which I always resing on 9/11 because it brought such comfort and perspective that day, and what a joy it was to come home to phone message asking me to share the joyous news that Hannah L. Master had been born that morning, what a ray of God's sovereign hope I got to share as I called others with that news.
Today the kids and I read a book called Fireboat: The heroic adventures of the John J. Harvey" by Maira Kalman which deals, partly, with the 9/11 tradgedy, in past years we have also read Brave Mole by Lynne Jonell which also deals with the events of 9/11 in an indirect child friendly way.
