Kay Hunt

Long-time (46 years) Tenth member Kay Hunt died Saturday morning. Dori Baggs sent in this picture along with these comments:

I've attached a photo I took of Kay Hunt at a Sparrows event back in 2003. I joked with her at that event that I wanted to take a picture of the "oldest" Sparrow in the group with the "youngest" one, (who was Magdalena Cedeno)! Kay was a humble and incredible woman. A godly role model for women of all ages. She had energy that put us younger ones to shame! She was involved in so many things...sending birthday cards to our global partners for years, singing in the choir, involved in committees, and an active participant in Sparrows until her health forced her to stop. Even though the past few years she was not able to attend church due to health concerns, she was still ministering to those around her! She would write to me that she prayed for her roommates in nursing homes or in the hospital, telling them about Jesus. How like Paul...ministering in chains! This verse came to my mind as I grieve her passing, "Her (spiritual) children rise up and call her blessed." -Proverbs 31:28

A funeral service will be held at Du Bois Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 17, at 11 am. The family may be greeted between 10 and 11.
