Organ Farewell

Last night brought the end of an era. In June 1970, the "Elmore Organ" was installed as the "largest electronic instrument in the world." Last night, July 20, 2008, it was played for the last time by Evelyn Larter who sent it out with a vivacious postlude.

The organ is being removed this week. Work will then begin on the choir loft, preparing it for the installation of the new organ. A scheduled recital date to introduce the organ is September 12. Look for more information about that in August. Paul Jacobs will perform.
