Becoming Particular

Last night I had the pleasure to take part in a presbytery commission meeting, called to receive a petition from Cresheim Vally Church to be "particularized" as a church and to examine prospective elders for their Session. To become a particularized church, a mission church must have a permanent Session.

The men examined were Collier Kirkland, Mike Erickson, Al Chapman, and Roger Hoover. Collier and Mike will be ordained for the first time, while Al and Roger have already served as elders ordained at Tenth. The Sunday in which the church will be particularized and the elders installed is May 11 during the church's morning service. Phil Ryken will be preaching.
