What a nice story she did -- kudos to the leadership & musicians. Clearly the concert brought Christ into focus. We thank God for your ministry in this way -- and will make an extra effort to be there next year!
As an aside, we were also so very blessed by the Christmas Eve service on the Sunday evening the 23rd. The music was tremendous, and helped me re-focus on worshiping Christ in the midst of all the hustle & bustle. It was wonderful to walk over to Rittenhouse Square and take our kids out for hot chocolate after the service, to stay out late & make memories, to enjoy each other and really celebrate & discuss the meaning of the incarnation in the wake of the celebration we had just enjoyed together. (And all without fear of what staying out late would do to their moods on Christmas Day, since it was only the 23rd and we had an extra day to let them catch up on sleep!)
Wow, what a great review, just listening to her reaction almost had me tearing up. It made me even more bummed that we were out of town that evening.
It is also a wonderful confirmation of how the programs we do that may seem periferial to some are really hitting people in the city with aspects of the gospel and worship which is exactly what our mission statement is calling us to do. Bravo, to the musician but also to the elders, trustees and all who have prayed and planed for how we can impact the city in relevent yet God honoring ways.
I also echo Sharon's comments on what a blessing the service on the 23rd was to our family for many of the same reasons.
PS Was this concert webcast? Is it available on the chruch's site? I know it wouldn't be the same as having been there but it has really made me want to hear it!!
