Carl Menz
Our church friend, Carl Menz, died Friday following illness. Here is a brief obituary:
Carl Menz
June 6, 1913 -June 15, 2007
Born in Hagen, Germany, son of Emil and Meta Menz. He is survived by 2 cousins, Maryanu Greenblum of Titusville, Florida, and Hannelore Sachs of Forest Hills, NY. Mr. Menz, a WWII Holocaust survivor, was a retired employee of Philadelphia Newspapers, accomplished pianist, and musical innovator. He was best known for his “Hemispherical Keyboard” concept. He regularly attended Tenth Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia, as well as Beth Emanuel Messianic Synagogue, Philadelphia, entertaining countless people with his classical musical abilities.
A memorial service for Mr. Menz will take place at Beth Emanuel Messianic Synagogue, 10150 Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, on Sunday, June 24, 2007, at 1 pm.
We will also plan a date and time for a memorial service at Tenth. I will have addresses at the receptionist desk for his cousins if anyone would like to send cards. There is no family designation of memorial gifts.
