Angel Tree Note from David Monie

Angel Tree Tutoring Ministry has continued to grow. The last couple of weeks, for instance, the tutoring ministry has had 21 and 20 kids to tutor, respectively. This ministry is clearly making a difference in the lives of these kids (the most at-risk group of kids in the City). Jennifer Barnett and Jonathan Bradenburg have done a great job in leading this ministry this year. The Bible-based group lesson teachings have been wonderful, bringing Jesus into the lives of these kids. Angel Tree Camping, that Tenth and Prison Fellowship Ministries subsidize, has been wonderful for the participating kids. The new church van has been a great blessing in providing safe transportation.

There is a need, however, for additional tutors since some tutors have had to be absent for good reasons. It is best when tutoring can be done on a one-on-one basis. This adds a mentoring aspect to this program and the relationships that are built are a great help to the kids, not to mention the tremendous blessing to the tutor.
