The Angel's Story

I'm delighted to have been asked to speak at the Family Christmas Eve Service. I already have the message prepared. If you have children, the best way to get them prepared is to read the stories of the angel's visits to Zechariah, Mary, and the shepherds, as well as Isaiah's vision in the temple.

Thanks for this "heads up" I will incorperate some review of these passages into our advent celebration and homeschool lessons this week. Just to make sure I am not more biblically challenged then I think and to make it easier for others to prep too let me clarify what scripture passages you are refeing to:

Zechariah: Luke 1:5-25

Mary: Luke 1: 26-38

Shepherds: Luke 2:8-20

Isaiah's temple vision:? So much of Isiah is visions given to Isaiah from the Lord that I am not sure what to focus on here do you mean 6:1-13 or something else?

Also, is there a reason for not including the visit of the Angel to Joseph in Matthew 1:19-25 and 2:13-15? I always kind of liked knowing that he wasn't left out of the loop when it came to angel encounters. Imagine it was good for his and Mary's growing relationship/marriage that they both were communicated to this way by the Lord.

Isaiah 6 is correct. Maybe I can slip Joseph's dream in. We'll see.
