Be Careful!
The painters across the street are making me nervous. They are standing on the ledge of fourth floor painting the windows. They have ropes tied around their waists, but I don't know...one slip and... Their mothers certainly would not approve!

DID you know? In 1987 ( 8 days after Hannah was born), Merle fell from the second story balcony and window ledge of our house while doing some repairs, and fractured his skull? A fun time was not had by all!
Go tell those guys to get some proper ladders and people to spot for them and so be kind to their mothers and wives and kids!
I was visiting 315 yesterday and was pretty amazed at what I saw. My occupation is construction safety per OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH, etc. These guys are what the trade industry calls "cowboys". I call them "people who would never be invited to one of my job sites." YIKES! I concur with c.brubaker: these people need to think of their families - and not their boss' schedule. Schedule comes second to safety. My catch-phrase lesson for my workers regarding safety is "If you die today, you don't work tomorrow." And as I do before every work day, I encourage you to pray for the workers, they need it!
BTW- ropes won't protect them from falling. If they do fall, their backs will snap. I've seen footage of such a terrible outcome.
If you are concerned by their actions, contact OSHA at the emergency notice below. They have officers in the area with the authority of shutting down such a dangerous situation. (It's the future job I'm working to attain)
from their site: osha.gov :
