Influence

I learned through reformation 21 there is a "50 Most Influential Christians" list. You can check it out here. I'm not interested in joining the discussions about the list. I would like to hear, however, some of the names you wish would be among the most influential.

It would be interesting to know how many of these 50 are actually true followers of Jesus Christ. Joel Osteen? Benny Hinn? Paul Crouch? Sean Hannity? And my favorite - Dr. Phil??? And the Pope is listed as #42...
I would think that the Pope would be either #1 or not be on the list, depending on the viewpoint.

Anyway, getting to your request, here are a few names that come to mind as people that I would have been pleased to see on the list:

R.C. Sproul
Hank Hanegraaff
Lee Strobel
Ben Witherington
Phil Keaggy
Al Mohler
Curt Schilling
Mo Leverett
...and or course, I would take our Dr. Phil over their Dr. Phil!

Here are some more:

Ravi Zacharias
Tim Keller
Michael Horton
Bono ...ok, that's a bit of a playful troll :-)

lots of beautiful people we'll never meet or who's names we'll never know that God is using...

Hmm. I'd second Chuck's suggestion of Bono and some of the other suggestions are good too. Others I'd suggest (in no particular order):

Stanley Hauerwas
Mark Driscoll
Marvin Olasky
Jim Wallis
Alvin Plantinga
Richard Hays
Ann Coulter

ACK, Marion - only the Lord knows who is working effectively for his kingdom. That list is just so, so....AMERICAN! I'll bet some obscure, invisible, faithful, ego-less prayer warrior belongs on that list ahead of whomever.
