Volunteer Opportunity
April Ognibene just sent in this volunteer opportunity working with middle school students:
"Spark addresses the drop-out crisis by connecting volunteer professionals with underserved, at-risk, 7th and 8th graders in workplace apprenticeships to "spark" their potential. Through hands-on activities within a meaningful adult relationship, Spark mentors help students understand and re-engage in the relevance of their education.

Next fall, Spark will serve 125 students from six Philadelphia public schools. Spark is currently seeking professionals and organizations in all fields who work in (or could bring work to) North, West or Center City Philadelphia to host students for 2 hours in the afternoon weekly over 10 weeks starting in early October 2013. For more information, visit www.sparkprogram.org or email aognibene@sparkprogram.org. Applications are available at tinyurl.com/applyspark until August 15th."
