Bart Brooks

Photo: Ran into Bart in the square last night. One of my favorite artists.

Bart Brooks, a long time Tenth attender and friend, died last week after a lengthy illness. He was a well known artist in the Rittenhouse Square Neighborhood and was loved by many. His most recent "studio" was at La Colombe coffee shop. To view some of his work click here.

Please also see this remembrance at the LaColumbe site. http://scrapbook.lacolombe.com/2012/11/26/bart-brooks/

At that link you will see info on a show of Bart's work. Also, Bart's brother is looking to make a photo archive of all of Bart's work. If you have some of his artwork, there is info at the link to contact his brother.

Great Photo.

Thanks for posting this! Please come (all) to the opening/remembrance event on January 26th at La Colombe. Check the La Colombe blog for more details, or stop in at the cafe. I'm hoping that people will bring a painting to talk about or maybe just share a "Bart story" or speak a few words about him. The love being expressed by Bart's community has been very uplifting - and I want to thank you all for the love you gave to Bart for so many years.

Joshua Brooks (Bart's brother).
