Our friends at Players & Players Theatre across the street on Delancey have an upcoming event The American

Now, did you know that the theater is one of the oldest continuous running theaters in the country? Indeed, it is 100 years old this year! Click here for a little history with pictures. They are in the midst of restoration and renovation and would appreciate any help, either by donation or by physical labor. We are pleased to join with them in hosting a children's festival next Saturday, October 27.
To test you, true historians (or see who has read the outside plaque on the theater wall), what notable Korean event took place in that building in 1919? I'll post the answer in the comment section.

It is the site of "the first Korean congress, April 14-16, 1919, in support of Korean independence and all oppressed nations."
