Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibit
From Fred Putnam, who will be co-leading with Liam, the Dead Sea Scrolls discussion group tomorrow night.
Greetings in Christ!
This link leads to a brief paper (c. 27 pages) about the DSS exhibit, written by an experienced and well-published evangelical archaeologist. I have not met Gordon Franz, but know some of his associates.
Perhaps folks who are going to the exhibit that evening would find this helpful. He adds helpful commentary and explanations about items on display, many of which are merely displayed with name, date, and provenance (as he says). He also recommends visiting the exhibit website before going; it includes a couple of brief videos that provide some context, as well as helpful information about the exhibit itself (e.g., advice about bringing a sweater or light jacket, because the exhibit is kept deliberately cool as a conservation measure).
