Safe Families for Children

See below the invitation to attend a luncheon on July 22 about Safe Families for Children. It is being sponsored by Bethany Christian Services, which will have its own display this Sunday, July 15.

Let’s Open Our Heart and Our Arms Wider – Safe Families for Children

You are invited to attend the Safe Families for Children meeting Sunday, July 22, at 1:30 - 2:30 in room West 1.   Bethany Christian Services will be presenting an overview of the program and how Tenth can become involved. Lunch to be provided. Your RSVP to Shirley Stoddard is appreciated.

Safe Families for Children is an all church national movement of compassion and biblical hospitality that gives hope to families in crisis. This network of host families and support friends, help parents who need to temporarily place their children due to unmanageable or critical circumstances.

Hallmarks of the Safe Families model are:

- Biological parents maintain full custody

- Volunteer Families are screened and supported

- Average length of stay is about six weeks

- Average age of child in Safe Families is 4.5 years old

- Close working relationship between Safe Families, the local church and Bethany

- Commitment to reunite the family as soon as possible

The best part, is sharing Christ. Letting people see Jesus with skin on. If you have adopted or have been or are a foster parent, Safe Families for Children is on the same continuum, preserving the family.
