Workshop on Biblical Exposition
The annual Workshop on Biblical Exposition is but a month away. For information, here is a letter that Liam sent out.
Dear friend in gospel ministry,
I write to invite you to the seventh annual Workshop
on Biblical Exposition at Philadelphia’s Tenth Presbyterian Church on February
1–3, 2012. This year’s focus topic is on Old Testament Narrative. David
Helm of Holy Trinity Church in Chicago and I will be the main speakers.
The Workshops on Biblical Exposition were started by
Kent Hughes of the College Church in Wheaton, who modeled them after seminars
led by London’s Dick Lucas. They are sponsored by the Charles Simeon Trust,
which seeks to promote expository preaching. The training comes in three forms:
lectures on preaching, model sermons, and collaborative
workshops in which pastors share and critique sermon outlines, usually
working together through a book of Scripture. There is ample time for worship
and fellowship.
I believe these workshops provide some of the best
homiletical training available for working pastors. Each year fifty pastors or
more enjoy an intimate, encouraging time of mutual ministry in the Word of God.
The cost of the workshop is $124 (before January 11), which includes a
continental breakfast and lunch each day.
For more information, including registration, please
visit www.simeontrust.org.. For
other inquiries please contact Elizabeth Carlson at ecarlson@tenth.org or 215.735.7688 x243.
I hope that you can join us in February!
In Christ’s service,
Liam Goligher
