ESL Teachers needed at Northeast Community Church

Greetings!

The ESL Ministry at Northeast Community Church may be young, but it is vibrant!  We have had almost 150 adult students from 16 different countries attending our classes, and about 40 of their children coming for homework help!  We currently have a Wait List of approx 40 new students wanting to get into our classes.  Moreover, we had a huge Thanksgiving celebration dinner and program with about 160 in attendance, and a team skit about God providing for the Pilgrims coming to America.  Then, this Sunday we had our first Christmas field trip, with 60 going to a Living Nativity at a church in NJ.

As we grow, we need more help!  As we continue into our 2nd semester (Jan-June), we have a need for more teachers and homework/children helpers.  We're considering starting a new beginners' class, as the majority of new students on the wait list are at that level.  Also, a couple of volunteers are leaving for personal reasons in higher level classes.  To have a successful ministry, we really need more helpers!  Is this a time that you would be willing and interested to find out more and become involved with ESL?  Our 2nd semester runs from Jan 18 - June 15, with classes on Mon & Wed evenings 6:30-8:30pm, and another one Saturday mornings 9:30-11:00am.

Please let me know if you have the availability and desire to serve the Lord in this way in 2012!  The only requirements are the ability to speak English and a love for others.

Blessings, and Merry Christmas,
Jen
